Crypto-related physical attacks, known as wrench attacks, have resulted in more than $30 million (roughly Rs. 286 crore) in stolen assets during the first half of 2026, according to Chainalysis. The blockchain analytics firm recorded 46 violent incidents involving kidnappings, home invasions and hostage situations, putting the year on track to surpass 2025's record losses. The report also highlighted growing concerns over data leaks and privacy risks that expose crypto holders to targeted attacks.
